Where in the World are Carefree Vacations Travel Specialists Traveling?

Enjoying our free bike rental2/29/2012 by Tracy Anderson

Being in the Travel business, I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to get out of town several times per year. Recently, I spent 5 days on the Big Island of Hawaii where I did some tourist things I had not done before.

I took advantage of the benefits that we offer our clients. At the Fairmont Orchid in the Mauna Lani area, we had complimentary bike rentals to explore the fish ponds and the Ancient Hawaiian ruins. We also received an activity card where weSunset over Kona had free snorkel equipment to use in the protected bay where the sea turtles come to rest every day.

We rented a jeep to explore the island and drove all the way to the top of Mauna Kea, the tallest mountain on the island, almost 14000 ft. Yes, that is snow next to the observatory! (see picture below in my gallery). The sunsets are the most beautiful anywhere.

My fiancé and I shared a romantic dinner for Valentine’s Day at Sam Choy’s, a local favorite on the island.

Volcanoes National ParkNo visit to the Big Island would be complete without a trip to Volcanoes National Park. Walking on lava is a surreal experience.
