During our recent visit to Scottsdale, Arizona, a 5 hour drive from Los Angeles, we visited The Phoenician, A Luxury Collection Resort. We toured the beautifully landscaped grounds, taking in fountains, breathtaking greens for golf and a wonderful pool area. The grounds were exquisite and so was our lunch at the Relish Burger Bistro overlooking the golf course.
Burger at Relish Burger Bistro
The Relish Burger Bistro features all-American favorites and over 70 beers! The view of the golfers below practicing on the putting green and teeing off gave us plenty to discuss and the scenery was perfect. The resort is what you might picture a gorgeous desert resort to be and more. The staff was incredibly nice and friendly and we honestly didn’t want to leave.
Located minutes from downtown Scottsdale, where you can find almost any shop or type of cuisine you can think of, and approximately 20 minutes from Phoenix, there is something for everyone. The resort boasts world-class golf with 3 different nine-hole courses to create your ultimate 18-hole golf experience. Having been awarded a “World Travel Award for one of North America’s Leading Golf Resorts”, you won’t be disappointed.
Phoenician Pool, Cabanas & Camelback Mountain
But golf isn’t the only thing you will enjoy at The Phoenician. There is the Centre for Well-Bring, shopping, tennis, kids activities and club and a diverse selection of excellent dining. I think this was honestly the best burger I’ve ever had. A Kobe beef mushroom burger paired with tater tots and beautiful green views, my husband and I were happy!
Art & Entry into the resort
After filling up at the Relish Burger Bistro, we walked around the resort and enjoyed the excellent weather and scenery. The resort’s map made it seem immense, but it was a nice walk with plenty to look at. We made our way past the Necklace Lake & Lagoon where you can enjoy the Koi fish and continued on to The Casbah Pool Complex features 9 pools! There a 165-foot waterslide, private cabana rentals and a great pool bar in the middle of it all with an incredibly nice bartender.
After a slushy drink at the pool bar and watching people sunbathe and swim in December, we continued past the bowling green lawn and entered the hotel, taking the elevator to the lobby and enjoying beautiful art work along the way. The lobby was appealing and comfortable. With a fountain, sitting area and fireplace it was elegant and inviting.
Terrace & Firepit
We went out to the terrace and took in the gorgeous view of the resort spread out below. The tabletops had fire pits built into them and I wished it was night time.
When you drive up to the hotel’s main entrance, you will take in an elegant fountain. Just north of the fountain is the entrance to the resort’s Cactus Garden. Set against the Camelback Mountain, it seemed in perfect harmony.
While we only spent a few hours at this marvelous resort, I can’t wait for my next visit! The resort lives up to its name, A Luxury Collection Resort, yet it’s unpretentious and welcoming.
The Phoenician offers many seasonal activities which vary by season. Some activities in December are: Daddy-Daughter Tea, S’mores & Stories, Storytime with Mrs. Claus, Adult Cocktail-Making Class, Wine & Cheese Tastings and many more! This resort is an excellent destination in and of itself.
