I’ve been around aviation most of my life, but until recently- I’ve never flown!
I stumbled upon Eastsound Airport in picturesque Ocas Island, Washington on a recent vacation. It was here I met Rod Magner of MagicAir Tours. I had never seen a 1929 TravelAir. There are only 40 in the world left. And the chance to see the San Juan’s from an open-air cockpit well that’s just too much to resist.
As we taxi’d out and started our takeoff roll I knew then, this was something i was never going to forget.
Yes, the feeling is indescribable. And Rod’s 20 years experience puts you at ease as he narrates and shows you his home, the San Juan Islands.
I din’t want to land, I didn’t want it to end! But at the same time, I couldn’t wait to tell someone about this amazing experience.
It wasn’t long before I was back in the sky- my way. But now… when I really want to fly, I know just where to go.
