On the eve of April 18,1775, the church sexton, Robert Newman, and Captain John Pulling Jr. climbed the steeple and held high two lanterns as a signal from Paul Revere that the British were marching to Lexington and Concord by sea (not by land) across the Charles River. Built in 1723, the Old North Church is Boston’s oldest surviving church building and one of the Freedom Trail’s most visited historical sites. On this private after-hours guided tour, guests will visit the Sanctuary plus the Crypt where over 1,100 bodies lie underneath the sanctuary and will tour the church’s bell tower for a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the archive room and the bell ringing chamber. The Old North Church has been named one of the best destinations in New England welcoming over 500,00 visitors each year. New York City: Brooklyn Essential Walking Tour - 4 Hours

Highlights:

Brooklyn Bridge - Opened in 1883 after thirteen years of construction and was built across the East River to connect Manhattan with the then-rural city of Brooklyn. From the beginning, the bridge’s designer, John A. Roebling, planned not just a structure of convenience, but a great work of art that would stand the test of time. The Brooklyn Bridge is a fully accessible bridge, with a center lane above traffic open to bicycle and pedestrian traffic. Your fully guided tour takes you on a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge; a walk taken every day by commuters and tourists, and during times of crisis, such as after the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11. Brooklyn Heights- One of the best-kept secrets of the City of New York is Brooklyn Heights, a beautiful district in Brooklyn. Some historians call it one of the first suburbs in the United States. Brooklyn Heights is unique as it radiates a hometown atmosphere while situated right next door to one of the most recognizable cityscapes in the world. In 1964, Brooklyn Heights was the first area designated as a New York City Historic District. You will understand why as you see Federal style homes built in the 1820s, brick and brownstone homes from the 1830s and 1840s, and two Italianate mansions that overlook Pierrepont Street. DUMBO- DUMBO’s name is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, and the span gives the creatively oriented neighborhood much of its character—as do cobblestone streets and dramatic architecture left over from its industrial days. Today, DUMBO features art galleries, independent bookshops, boutiques, confectionaries, and waterfront parks where locals and tourists thrive. DUMBO offers some of the best photo ops including the Empire State Building framed by the Manhattan Bridge.

4-Hours with a private guide.

Guests will walk across the Brooklyn Bridge from the Manhattan side where they will learn the history and view the spectacular skyline. Guests will then venture into Brooklyn Heights which is a posh residential area filled with elegant brownstones. Here, guests will learn about the culture and the history of the area which is often referred to as the first suburb in the United States. Guests will also visit the waterfront park before heading to DUMBO and then back to Manhattan.

During the tour you may also see: Dumbo Art Galleries, views of Lady Liberty, Manhattan Bridge and Empire State Building (indoor entrance tickets are not included for any locations).

All stops, timing and inclusions of the tour are dependent on traffic and weather conditions.

We can customize the tour and stops to fit your needs upon request.

Tour Duration: Four (4) Hours

Tour Can Operate:

The starting time and date of the tour are customizable to fit your schedule.

This tour is offered all year round, 7-days a week.

Wheelchair Accessible: No

Physical Activity Level: Light

Inclusions:

Experience the Best of Brooklyn on foot and receive local tips from your savvy local guide

Guide's gratuity is not included

24-hour support phone number

Not Included:

Gratuity for the tour guide is not included

New York City: SoHo

New York City: The Origins of NYC Sightseeing Program
New York traces its rich history to Lower Manhattan, the meeting point of the Hudson River and the East River. Originally named Nieuw (New) Amsterdam, New York City began as a small Dutch settlement in what is now known as Lower Manhattan. Broadway, which was then called Heere Straat (Gentleman Street), was nothing but a small road. Wall Street actually had a wall back in 1653 to protect the settlers from attacks. As the city grew, so did the nation. New York was the first capital of the United States and the spot where George Washington was inaugurated is marked by his statue. Over the years, Lower Manhattan has become the financial capital of the world. Today, the streets are teeming with people and filled with stories of New York’s past, present, and future. As you explore Lower Manhattan with your guide, you’ll see the 9/11 Memorial, St. Paul’s Chapel, Battery Park, and Trinity Church as you learn about the history of the Native Americans, Dutch, and English.

Included:

Not Included:

English speaking tour guide

24-Hour Emergency Phone Number

Transportation can be added

Guide gratuity

New York City: A Cultural Walk Through Little Italy and Chinatown - 4 Hours

Little Italy was formed in the late 1800s as millions of Italian immigrants streamed into the United States. And although nowadays you do not hear much Italian on the street, there are still old school establishments that carry on the traditions. Chinatown on the other hand is still growing and when you enter it, it is like being transported to another country. All the signs are in Chinese, the languages spoken are all dialects of Chinese, the produce and food shops sell many items you will not recognize. It is a submersion into another culture. Join your guide on this walking tour and find out what is below the surface that makes both these neighborhoods even more unique and intriguing.

Meet your guide on the corner of Lafayette and Broome Street in Little Italy.

Walk the neighborhood including Mulberry Street, Mott Street, Canal Street, Five Points, Mahayana Buddhist Temple, Columbus Park, Chatham Square, First Shearith Israel Graveyard.

Inclusions:

Experience the city and receive local tips from your savvy local guide

Flexible timing

Driver gratuity included (guide gratuity is not included)

24-hour support phone number

Not Included:

Gratuity for the tour guide is not included

On the tour, you will taste and rate your way through some of the city's best cupcakes, ranking them on presentation, frosting quality/style, and moistness/crumb density. Pipe smoking is only permitted in the Connoisseur Club. Pipe smoking in open deck areas is considered an extreme fire hazard and is not permitted.

Failure to comply with the above-stated policy will result in guests being asked to leave the ship at their expense, without refund or credit for the unused portion of their cruise.

  • Special Dietary Needs - Advance Notice Required
Guests with special dietary requests should advise Regent Seven Seas Cruises of any special dietary requirements 90 days prior to sailing by sending an e-mail to rsscops@rssc.com. General dietary needs such as low salt or low cholesterol foods can be satisfied onboard the ship just by speaking with the dining wait staff.

  • Wheelchair Access & Special Needs
Guests with any medical condition(s) that require special services, including travel with medical apparatus, should advise Regent Seven Seas Cruises in writing at time of booking. Please note some ports-of-call may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility and special arrangements may need to be made.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises' wheelchairs on board are for emergency purposes only. Guests requiring a wheelchair for mobility must bring their own.

For guests requiring oxygen equipment, an oxygen concentrator is the only form of oxygen equipment allowed aboard ship, and must be provided by the guest.

Regent has the right to refuse or revoke passage to anyone who, in its judgment, is in a physical, mental or emotional condition unfit for travel or whose comfort on board may be compromised due to situations beyond the care that can be provided by Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Mobile devices utilizing the internet via a cellular carrier's network (4G for example) instead of the ship's wireless access, will be treated as cell phone usage and roaming charges will apply. Any costs associated will be billed directly through the guest's cell phone provider, and not through the ship. Check www.cellularatsea.com/guest_services.htm for more information.
