Valparaiso: Encounter with the Art - 4 hours HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS EXCURSION La Sebastiana – Pablo Neruda Museum A local artist’s studio DESCRIPTION Picturesque Valparaiso was one of the first Chilean cities founded by the Spanish in 1536. A thriving port for centuries, modern Valparaiso remains Chile’s primary outlet to the sea. In 1906, a vicious earthquake struck the city, toppling hundreds of the city's priceless monuments. This earthquake, however, would be a portent of things to come: The truly fatal blow to Valparaiso would come 8 years later. In 1914, the first international ship crossed the Panama Canal. The golden age of Valparaiso had come to an end. After years of gloom and decay, the historic port and university town is now living something of a revival. The Chilean government has pledged both economic and structural support to the city, and private entities are implementing projects that seek to trigger an urban renaissance in Valparaiso as a world heritage city and Chile's cultural capital. Among the priorities are culture, heritage preservation, and economic development via tourism. This effort culminated in UNESCO naming Valparaiso’s Historic Quarter a World Heritage Site in 2003. Immigrants from all over the world have chosen to stay and leave their mark on this peculiar city. Since over 450 years, this strategic port in the western coast of the South American continent has been the subject of interest for many renamed visitor. First visited by Drake and later on by Dutch pirates, left in ruins by Spanish cannons’ fire and reconstructed many times after numerous earthquakes, Valparaíso is a handmade city, a result of human intervention and an example of urban resilience. During your 4-hour tour you will have the chance to see Valparaíso distinctively spontaneous hill neighbourhoods and their vernacular architecture, including more than a dozen ascensores (funicular cable cars) that connect the port with its surrounding heights. This is a great city to explore on foot so that you can grasp its beauty. One of the highlights of the tour will surely be Chilean Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda’s Valparaiso residence, “La Sebastiana”. Travellers will be transferred from the pier to the excursion sites by car Valparaiso - Wines of the Casablanca Valley HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS EXCURSION* Tour and Tasting at two emblematic vineyards of the Casablanca valley DESCRIPTION This morning you will be welcomed at the Valparaíso pier by your guide who will escort you on your private tour to the Casablanca valley. The Casablanca Valley is a sub-region of the Aconcagua Valley, but its vineyards – first planted in the early 1980s – have earned worldwide recognition in a relatively short space of time. The warm, temperate climate of the area is greatly influenced by the coastal sea breezes, which in combination with a perfect terroir in a valley situated on the coastal plane, with distant hills and slopes rising no more than 400 meters above sea level provide ideal conditions for certain varieties of grape. It is not unlike Santa Barbara and portions of Sonoma, and fittingly, the grapes that have done best over the past half-decade or so have been Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. While the area is best known for its crisp white wines, in particular Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, varieties such as Gewürtztraminer and certain lighter reds such as Pinot Noir are fast becoming the varieties du jour. The first visit will be made at the Casas del Bosque vineyard where the visit will commence with a tour of the winery and cellars. Continue with a tasting focussing on their superb, award-winning red and white wines including their award-winning Sauvignon Blanc Reserve 2004. A selection of dried fruits and cheeses will be served to accompany the wines during the tastings. Then continue to the Matetic winery. The new Matetic vineyard, designed by the Viña Matetic team in cooperation with architect Lawrence Odfjell, is a state-of-the-art winemaking facility, constructed so as to complement its glorious setting. In other words, harmony has been reached between the winery´s organic agricultural practices and the natural landscape of the valley. Upon arrival to the vineyard you will be greeted and invited to listen to a brief introductory speech about the vineyard history and the different phases of wine production while appreciating stunning views of the vineyards and the beautiful Rosario Valley. Puerto Montt: The Llanquihue Lake Experience - 6 hours HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS EXCURSION The town of Puerto Varas The Settlers Museum in Frutillar Angelmó Handicrafts Market in Puerto Montt DESCRIPTION This excursion takes in the main attractions of Puerto Montt and the nearby towns of Puerto Varas and Frutillar, both located on the shores of Lake Llanquihue, with spectacular views of the snow-capped Osorno Volcano. Puerto Montt was founded in 1853 by German immigrants and their stalwart promoter Vicente Pérez Rosales, who named the town after another promoter of immigration, President Manuel Montt. The waterfront here was rebuilt after the devastating earthquake of 1960, which had destroyed the city's port, church, and neighbourhood of Angelmó. Today it is the capital of Chile's Southern Lake District, a thriving city that invests heavily in salmon farming, shipping, and tourism. Puerto Montt is commercially and strategically very important to this region. Settled by German colonists in the mid-19th century, it features middle-European architecture, with high-pitched, redwood-shingled roofs and ornate balconies. On leaving the port there will be a short visit of the Angelmó Handicrafts market located just a few minutes walk from the dock gates, before continue through the centre of the city for a glimpse of highlights such as the redwood cathedral on the city's plaza, which is the city's oldest building, dating back to 1856. Continue to the town of Puerto Varas for an orientation tour and enjoy the opportunity to take a photograph across the waters of the Llanquihue to one of the regions icons; the mighty Osorno Volcano. Puerto Varas is one of Chile's most charming towns, not only because of its privileged lakeside location, but also because of its quaint, German-influenced architecture, and its friendly, laid-back atmosphere. The city was built by the sweat and tenacity of German immigrants, and later it became a port for goods being shipped from the Lago Llanquihue area to Puerto Montt (mostly timber). Today most of the area's middle- and upper-middle-class residents call Puerto Varas home and commute to Puerto Montt and other surrounding places for work. Along the trip we will do a short stop to enjoy the delicious local beer, Drakkar and Colonos; we will also visit the brewery to learn how they produce it. Our host will be the owner who will explain us the process. Continue to the historic town of Frutillar. Founded in 1856 by German settlers, this is one the most charming towns in Chile. A visit will be made to the Settlers Museum, which features a collection of 19th-century antiques, clothing, and artefacts gathered from various immigrant German families around the area. There will also be a visit to the Teatro del Lago Concert Hall, an open-air venue that is gaining prestige on both a national and international level, and which is home to Frutillar’s famous Music Festival. Once an event for local and regional artists, this annual festival now draws international performers. Light lunch will be served at “Lavanda Casa de Té”, an old barn where Opa Pancho spended many hours dedicated to one of his hobbies, mechanic; today, it has been turned into an exclusive tearoom immersed in lavender plantation. Puerto Montt: A Journey into Chile's Oldest National Park - 4 hours HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS EXCURSION The Petrohué Rapids The town of Puerto Varas Puerto Montt and the Angelmó Market DESCRIPTION This excursion takes in the main attractions of Puerto Montt, Puerto Varas, and the Petrohué Rapids, one of southern Chile’s most beautiful attractions. Departing from the pier, the drive heads directly to one of the most famous beauty spots in Chile’s Lake District; Petrohué Rapids. The scenic journey follows the road to the village of Alerce, with views of charming wooden houses and churches, pristine farmland, and lush green forest, before taking the road that skirts Lake Llanquihue. The arrival to the village of Ensenada, at the foot of the Osorno Volcano, marks the entrance to the oldest National Park in Chile; the Vicente Perez Rosales National Park. Founded in 1926 it covers an area of 251,000 hectares (619,970 acres), incorporating the park's centrepieces Lake Todos los Santos, the Petrohué Rapids, and three commanding volcanoes; Osorno, Calbuco, and Puntiagudo. The mighty Petrohué is one of Chile’s most beautiful and exciting glacial rivers, and your guests will marvel at the spectacular scenery of ancient forests, waterfalls and breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and volcanoes. Upon arrival to the rapids, one can enjoy the spectacle of the inky-green waters as they crash through lava channels formed after the eruption of the Osorno in 1850. Head back west in the direction of Puerto Varas, where a short stop will be made. This tidy little town, with its lovely architecture and bustling centre, is mainly residential and thrives on tourism thanks to its grand setting on Lake Llanquihue and proximity to the nearby National Parks. Here there will be an opportunity to take a photograph or two across the waters of Lake Llanquihue to the mighty Osorno Volcano. Meal plan : Mineral water Travelers will be transferred from the pier to the excursion sites by car Puerto Montt: The Route of the Pioneers - 7 hours HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS EXCURSION A walk on the Osorno Volcano Breathtaking mountain and cold rainforest scenery DESCRIPTION This excursion follows route taken by the German, Swiss and Austrian pioneers in 1850, looking for a way to reach Argentina from Chile. This programme commences with a drive north out of Puerto Montt towards the village of Alerce, with views of charming wooden houses and churches, pristine farmland, and lush green forest. Then take the road to Colonia Tres Puentes. This small, sleepy town is located at the foot of the Calbuco Volcano. A stop will be made at a nearby forest of the ancient alerce trees. Continue the journey to the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park, climbing the Osorno Volcano to the Ski and Mountain Centre, at an altitude of 4,200 feet above sea level. When you reach the La Burbuja sector, you will take a short trek to enjoy the panoramic views and will be able to take pictures of the summit of Osorno and Calbuco with their snow-covered peaks, and of Lake Llanquihue. You will also enjoy the views from the chairlift. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant, before continuing to one of the most famous beauty spots in Chile’s Lake District; Petrohué Rapids. Punta Arenas: Exploring the End of the World - 3.5 hours HIGHLIGHTS OF THIS EXCURSION A visit to the Braun-Menendez Regional Museum. DESCRIPTION This city tour begins with a visit to the southern sector of Punta Arenas where we’ll visit the eerie wreckage of the Lord Longsdale ship and the local market. Afterwards we’ll head back to Old Town Punta Arenas. Here its European architecture, public buildings, main square and gardens with their varied styles denote wealth and luxury that existed in the city during the "golden era" between 1880 and 1914, when Punta Arenas was one of the most active ports of the Southern Cone. The visit will continue to the Braun-Menendez Regional Museum, the former residence of Maurice Braun and Josefina Menendez, a marriage that united the two largest fortunes in the region of Magallanes. With the falling price of wool and the nationalization of the farms during the 1970's, the family lost most of their wealth and their descendants have since moved from Patagonia to the rest of world. Moving from downtown towards the North, we’ll arrive at the Mount La Cruz panoramic point. It offers a beautiful view of the city, with its colorful roofs spreading up to the strait and showing the landscape of Tierra del Fuego, Mount Sarmiento and the southern area of the Brunswick Peninsula. Before continuing will take a few minutes to make a toast enjoying this unique view and brilliant photo stop. To end this excursion we’ll take you to the beautifully landscaped Municipal Cemetery. Here, one can admire the splendid mausoleums of pioneer families as well as a tomb dedicated to the Unknown Ona, the now extinct Fireland Indians. They say you can't really understand a culture until you see where they bury their dead, and in the case of the cemetery of Punta Arenas, this edict certainly rings true. The Municipal Cemetery was opened by the Governor Señoret in 1894 and features a giant stone portico donated by Sara Braun in 1919. Inside this necropolis lies a veritable miniature city, with avenues that connect the magnificent tombs of the region's founding families, settlers, and civic workers and a rather solemn tomb where lie the remains of the last Selk'nam Indians of Tierra del Fuego. Once leaving Punta Arenas enjoy the scenery of the pampas and Patagonian steppe; rheas may be seen alongside hundreds of sheep. In 1852 Bernard E. Philippi brought some sheep from Chiloé (island across Puerto Montt) and in 1877 the governor Double Diego Almeyda traveled to the Falkland Islands and brought 300 sheep that were sold in Punta Arenas. The following year other traders brought more sheep, and thus began the business of farming and today represent one of the main economic activities in the region. The principal landowners were English and Scots, who knew the handling of sheep and the necessary infrastructure. Rio Penitente farm was founded by Alexander Morrison, a Scottish pioneer in 1891. Today his descendants are in charge, and will be here to welcome visitors to their charming ranch to explore their facilities, discover the traditional work around the farm, and watch the sheep working dogs and a sheep shearing exhibition. The comfortable old-world setting provides sharp contrast with the raw beauty of the beech forest and open pampas of the surrounding Patagonian Landscapes. The clear water of Rio Penitente, flowing through the farm, offers excellent trout fishing. Buenos Aires - Full Day Sightseeing Tour - 7 hours Meet your local guide at local pier and start with your visit. Explore some of the most recognizable landmarks in Buenos Aires. Find out about the history and culture of this city, as you take in some of the most significant spots. Start at the most important square in the country: Plaza de Mayo. The country was founded here in 1580, and today the most important governmental buildings are located here including Casa Rosada (Government House), Cabildo (City Hall) and Catedral Metropolitana (Metropolitan Cathedral). Continue to the cobblestoned streets of San Telmo neighborhood, where the original porteños (Buenos Aires residents) settled in the early days. Tipping Policy

Celebrity automatically adds gratuities for restaurant and stateroom services to guests' onboard SeaPass® account, on a daily basis, in the following amounts

$12 per person per day in staterooms
$12.50 per person per day in Concierge Class and AquaClass® staterooms
$15.50 per person per day in suites

This gratuity is shared by the stateroom attendant, dining services staff, and housekeeping staff members, who help enhance guests' vacation experience. The gratuity payments may be adjusted onboard at Guest Relations at guests' discretion, in which case they will not be automatically added to the onboard SeaPass® account.

An 18% gratuity will be automatically added to all beverages, mini bar purchases, spa, and salon services. Additional gratuities may be added at guests' discretion.

Shipboard Policies

Pregnancy Policy
Celebrity Cruises cannot accept guests who will have entered their 24th week of pregnancy by the beginning of, or at any time during their cruise vacation. A physician's "Fit to Travel" note is required prior to sailing, stating how far along (in weeks) your pregnancy will be at the beginning of the cruise and confirming that you are in good health and not experiencing a high-risk pregnancy. The "Fit to Travel" note should be faxed to the Access Department at 1-954-628-9622. If you have already booked a cruise or Cruisetour and do not meet this requirement, please call Celebrity at 1-866-592-7225 or email them at info@specialneedsgroup.com.
Smoking Policy
For the comfort and enjoyment of all guests, Celebrity ships are designated as non-smoking. However, Celebrity does recognize that some guests smoke. Therefore, cigarette, cigar and pipe smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas of the ship. Smoking is not permitted in any dining venue, casino, theater, lounge, hallway, elevator or corridor. This policy includes smoking-like products such as electronic cigarettes. Smoking is not permitted inside any guest stateroom, nor on any guest veranda. If a guest is in violation of this policy, a cleaning fee of $250USD will be applied to their SeaPass account and the guest may be subject to further action pursuant to the "Consequences Section" of the Guest Conduct Policy. Cigarettes, cigars and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard. A guest must be at least 18 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco onboard. Additionally, there is a non-smoking policy on all components of the land tour portion of all Celebrity Cruises cruisetour products.
Special Dietary Needs - Advance Notice Required
Celebrity Cruises is happy to accommodate many different kinds of dietary needs in the Main Dining Room to enhance your cruise vacation. Once you have booked your cruise, send your special dietary request to SpecialNeeds@celebrity.com or call 1-866-592-7225.
Food Allergies
Celebrity's entire team is extensively trained to handle these special needs. Just speak with your Maître d' onboard and he or she will ensure your requirements are met. In the Marketplace, speak with the Manager who can answer any of your questions about ingredients in the dishes.
Vegetarian Dining
Celebrity offers a separate 14-day Vegetarian Menu that also contains at least one Vegan Selection in every category (appetizers, soups, salads, entrée) each night of your vacation. Look for the leaf icon to find the vegetarian dishes on the Main Dining Room menu.
Kosher Meals
In addition to the current selection of complimentary kosher meals, there is also a selection of Premium Kosher Meals. High quality, made-from-scratch dishes are Glatt Kosher certified and prepared under the strict supervision of the O.U. and USDA. Pricing is per item and prices are subject to change. If you wish to partake of either the standard or premium kosher meals, you must notify Celebrity 60 days in advance of your departure date. Premium Kosher Meals must be ordered onboard 24 hours in advance.
No Sugar Added Desserts
To accommodate guests with sensitivity to sugar, there is a selection of delicious, mouth-watering desserts with no added sugar. Available in all the onboard restaurants. Just look for the diamond symbol on the menu.
Other Dietary Needs
Lactose-intolerant? Need baby food? Or gluten-free dishes? Just ask and Celebrity will do their best to provide you with delicious alternatives.
Wheelchair Access & Special Needs
Celebrity is committed to providing all its guests with an unrivaled cruise vacation. Their extensive attention to detail will make your vacation one that knows no boundaries.
Dialysis
Guests requiring continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis are welcome to board all Celebrity Cruises vessels. However, Celebrity Cruises does not have the ability to assist or administer hemo-dialysis treatments. Guests should have all solutions and equipment needed to perform the dialysis delivered to the vessel on the day of sailing at least two hours prior to sailing. Please contact Celebrity for more information on policies and procedures.
Oxygen
All types of oxygen are permitted onboard. Please notify Celebrity as to quantity, type and delivery schedule. Each vessel has a different storage policy. However, you will be able to keep some or all of your cylinders in the stateroom.
Mobile Disabilities
Every ship in the Celebrity fleet was designed with every guest's need in mind. You'll find wide, spacious corridors, to allow 180° turns for wheelchairs. Most decks are accessible through automatic doors, and all public rooms feature entrances with gradual inclines.
Celebrity will provide complimentary wheelchair assistance for embarkation and disembarkation only.
If you would like to have a wheelchair during the cruise, there is a limited supply of wheelchairs available on the ships. Please contact the Access Department if you would like to make a reservation for a wheelchair. If you want to ensure you will have a wheelchair or scooter onboard, you are welcome to bring your own or rent one from one of these approved vendors. Guests may bring and use wheelchairs, mobility scooters and other assistive devices onboard the ships. Due to safety regulations, Segways may not be used onboard.
Assistive devices including mobility scooters must be stored and recharged in your stateroom so fire doors, corridors and elevator lobbies are kept clear for emergency evacuation. When parked throughout the ship, they must be parked out of the way to allow safe and easy access by other guests and crewmembers.
Assistive devices should fit through a standard stateroom entry doorway which is at least 23 inches wide. Celebrity offers accessible staterooms which have wider doorways measuring at least 32 inches wide and may accommodate larger devices. If you have an assistive device larger than 32 inches wide, please contact the Access Department for assistance.
Please note: Crewmembers are NOT permitted to lift assistive devices.
Accessible Staterooms
Accessible staterooms are designed with wider doors, roll-in showers, grab bars and other special features for guests with mobility disabilities and other disabilities that require the use of the accessible features of that stateroom.
Accessible staterooms are held for people with disabilities until all other non-accessible staterooms in that category are reserved. Upon reserving an accessible stateroom, Celebrity requires that guests acknowledge the need for the accessible stateroom by completing a Guest Special Needs Form.
If a guest is booked in an accessible stateroom and they do not have a mobility disability or other disability that requires the use of the features that are provided in the accessible stateroom, they may be moved at any time to a non-accessible stateroom in order to accommodate a guest with a disability. Please note that Celebrity will investigate and take action on potential misuse of accessible staterooms where there is good cause to believe that such staterooms have been booked fraudulently.

Boarding Accessibility
Airport Transportation - If requested in advance, Celebrity can arrange for accessible transportation to transfer guests between the airport and the pier. This service is offered at no extra charge to their air/sea guests or those who have purchased cruise-only transfers. Accessible transportation may be limited or not available outside the U.S. Contact your travel agent or Celebrity for details.
Extra Assistance at the Pier - Celebrity Cruises offers boarding and departure assistance with wheelchairs to guests with mobility disabilities. Request assistance once you arrive at the pier or contact Celebrity prior to your cruise so that they may prioritize your assistance to go onboard. During peak times there may be a wait for assistance.
Many ports provide easy access for wheelchairs and scooters. However due to various conditions - such as steepness of the gangway, tendering, weather, tidal and sea conditions, and shore-side facilities - guests using assistive devices may be precluded from getting on or off the ship.
Celebrity will make reasonable efforts to assist guests, but for safety reasons, their staff is not permitted to lift guests or equipment. Assistance with manual wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc. will be provided.
Assistance Onboard - Celebrity will provide reasonable mobility assistance to guests in accessing areas of the ship that are not accessible.
Traveling from Ship to Shore - At some ports, the ship will anchor off shore, and guests are taken to shore by small boats called tenders. Even if the ship is scheduled to dock at a pier, it can change to tendering.
Guests with assistive devices who are unable to take a few steps will be unable to board tenders unless roll-on capability is available.
In order to safely board most tenders, guests must be able to take steps and use a collapsible manual wheelchair. In addition, motorized wheelchairs and mobility scooters can not be taken on tenders, unless roll-on capability is available. Inquire about tender roll-on capability at the Guest Relations Desk while on board. Please note roll-on capability is not guaranteed.
Weather, sea conditions and other factors may preclude tendering. Safety of the guests and crew is the primary consideration, and the Captain and his staff will make the final decision regarding transferring guests and their assistive devices based on safety reasons.
If guests are unable to tender or disembark due to these circumstances, there will be no refund or credit for missed ports. While Celebrity recognizes your disappointment, the safety of guests and crew takes precedence.
Hearing Disabilities
Celebrity accommodates guests who are deaf and hard of hearing by providing them with technological advancements wherever and whenever possible. To customize your accommodations to meet your specific needs, please request and complete the Guest Special Needs Form from Celebrity. Amenities for Hearing Impaired Guests include:
- A portable room kit in your stateroom is available upon request. It includes a visual-tactile alert system that provides alerts for door knocking, telephone ringing, alarm clock and smoke detector.
- A TTY (teletypewriter) in your stateroom is available upon request. The TTY in your stateroom interfaces with the TTY at the Guest Relations Desk to meet all your in-stateroom needs.
- Amplified telephones are available in the staterooms and public areas on Solstice class ships.
- Assistive Listening Systems are located in the main theatre on Solstice class ships. Sign language interpreting services will be provided upon request for deaf guests who use American Sign Language (ASL) as their primary means of communication. Sign language interpreting services are provided for main production shows, port and shopping presentations and other major activities on a shared basis for all deaf guests onboard. A request for sign language interpreting services should be made with the Access Department at time of booking but no later than 60 days prior to sailing. Requests are subject to availability of interpreters. Sign language interpreting services are provided on cruises that depart from and/or return to the U.S. and Canada.
- Closed-captioned televisions are available in all staterooms across the fleet. Please note that only select programs are captioned. All safety videos are captioned.
Visual Disabilities
Celebrity has made the cruise experience as effortless as possible for guests who are blind or have low vision. Some Celebrity ships incorporate Braille in public areas and elevators. As always, crew and staff are on hand to assist in every way at any time. Service Animals
Celebrity warmly welcomes service dogs on all ships except those sailing to the United Kingdom (UK) due to DEFRA regulations. Please note: pets are NOT permitted onboard.
A service dog is defined as "any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability." Service dogs are not considered pets. Evidence that a dog is a service dog is helpful, but not required (such as identification cards, other written documentation, presence of harnesses and/or tags or the credible verbal assurance of the person with a disability using the animal).
Celebrity will provide 4 feet by 4 feet relief areas with cypress mulch to accommodate service dogs. Sod for sailings from the U.S. can be provided if requested in advance and is available. Relief areas are provided on a shared basis with other service dogs onboard. Please note that The Lawn Club on Solstice class ships is not designated as a relief area. Please notify the Access Department at time of booking, but no later than 30 days prior to sailing, if a service dog relief area is needed.
Service dogs are permitted to accompany the person with a disability in all public areas, including dining venues. While in public areas, service dogs must be on a leash, harness, or other restraining device. Due to health regulations, service dogs are not permitted in pools, whirlpools or spas.
Care and supervision of the service animal is the sole responsibility of the owner. The ships are not required to provide food or care for the animal. Guests may bring a reasonable quantity of food and bowls for the dog onboard the ship at no additional charge. If refrigerated space is needed, notify the Access Department at time of booking, but no later than 30 days prior to sailing.
Guests are responsible for obtaining all required permits for service dogs to depart the ship in non-U.S. ports. Guest must carry a copy with them on the ship, and leave a copy with the Guest Relations Desk after boarding the ship.
To obtain specific information on required documents for service dogs, please visit the U. S. Department of Agriculture's website. All documentation and immunization requirements are established by government authorities and not Celebrity Cruises. Please note requirements are subject to change without notice.
If the guest chooses to disembark the ship at a port at which the service dog must remain onboard, the guest must make arrangements to ensure that the dog is cared for. Note that the ship's staff is not required to care for the dog, nor can the dog be left in the stateroom unattended.
