OSAKA - Osaka Castle, Shitennoji and Den Den Town - 4 hours
This is a full day tour from Osaka (hotel or port in central Osaka). Prices are based on pick-up and drop-off in central Osaka. If your hotel or port is not in central Osaka, please enquire us for more information.
Enjoy a half day private guided tour of Osaka, Japan’s second city. Start with a stroll around Osaka castle, taking in the view of the city from this impressive building, before ending your tour with Shitennoji shrine and/or the Den Den electronic district – depending on how much time you have.
Highlights:
- Visit Osaka Castle, one of Japan's most famous castles. The five-storey castle tower itself is impressive, as are the two-square-kilometer grounds, featuring a large lawned garden with 600 cherry trees, and many other fortifications such as turrets, gates, moats, and other secondary citadels.
- Explore Shitennoji Temple, the first temple to be built by the state in Japan, and one of the country's oldest. It boasts a small but beautiful garden, the faithfully maintained temple buildings, that despite several reconstructions still retain their 6th century design, and a fascinating treasure house, where some of the temple's valuable paintings, scriptures and other artifacts are on display.
- Discover Den Den Town, Osaka's equivalent to Tokyo's Akihabara. Largely an electronics district, where you may be able to bargain to get cheap elctronic goods, the area is also developing as an 'otaku' area with many manga and anime shops appearing, as well as numerous maid and cosplay cafes.
- Be escorted by professional, registered local guides with an expert knowledge of the city of Osaka
Duration: 4 hours
Tour can operate: Morning or Afternoon
Wheelchair Accessible: No
Physical Activity Level: Moderate
Included: Transport for the day (local transport/taxis); privately guided tour; entrance fees; ; pick up and drop off at Osaka port (central area)
