Belfast - Tour of Antrim Coast - Full Day Tour
Depart Port by luxury vehicle accompanied by local professional guide.  Leaving Belfast behind, head north on a scenic, northbound journey.  Travel to the port of Larne and then join the spectacular Antrim Coast road.  Onwards through the villages of Ballygalley and Glenarm to Cushendall, know as the "Capital of the Glens" and Ballycastle, host of the annual 'Oul Lammas Fair'.

Arrive at The Giants Causeway Centre.
Next, travel to the famouse village of Bushmills, which is home to the legendary Bushmills Whiskey Distillery.

Enjoy a 2 Course lunch with tea/coffee in the wonderful Distillers Arms restaurant.

Following lunch you will travel along the Coast up to the fantastic Dunluce Castle. It is thought by some to be the most picturesque of all Irish castles. Situated in the most north-easterly tip of Ireland and first built by Richard de Burgh, Earl of Ulster in the 13th century, the ruins of the castle are a huge tourist attraction.

The castle is surrounded by terrifyingly steep drops at either side; these would have been essential features to the Vikings and early Christians, who were drawn to this magnificent place where an early Irish ring-fort once stood. It is situated on a 100 foot high basalt stack with a sea cave underneath. The earliest features of the castle, the two large drum towers, about nine metres in diameter, can still be seen on the eastern side.

Return to Belfast Port on the motorway which runs close to some scenic inland countryside.

Inclusions:
  • Private Driver Guide
  • Giants Causeway visitor Centre
  • Entrance to Dunluce Castle
  • Lunch Including Tea and Coffee

Optional Private Excursions

Avoid the crowds and hustle and bustle associated with a group activity. For a memorable trip ashore, we invite you to consider a private shore excursion. Enjoy the undivided attention of your own driver/guide and the flexibility of experiencing the aspects of the local culture that most interest you. Below are just some samples of the private shore excursions we can arrange for you. Let us personalize your experience!

Akureyri - Jewels of the North & Myvatn Nature Baths- FD Tour

The tour starts by driving along the coast of Iceland’s longest fjord, Eyjafjordur, from where you will get an excellent view of Akureyri and its surrounding mountains. After crossing Víkurskard-pass, view the Fnjoskadalur valley, where clear geological remains from glacial and post glacial times can be seen. The first stop is by Godafoss falls - one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland; the water of the river Skjalfandafljot falls from a height of 12 m over a width of 30 m. In 1000 A.D., at the meeting of the Althing, the Icelanders voted to adopt Christianity. The wooden idols of the Norse mythology were thrown into the falls in a symbolic gesture that swept away the old religion. Thus the Godafoss literally means the "Waterfall of the Gods”. From there you will drive directly to the Lake Myvatn area, stopping by the unique craters at Skutustadir before having lunch. After lunch you will visit the Dimmuborgir lava labyrinth, a paradise of towering lava castles, natural arches and countless unexplored grottos.

Next is a visit to the Myvatn Nature Baths. The Nature Baths offer bathers a completely natural experience - a relaxing dip amidst clouds of steam and a luxurious swim in a pool of geothermal water drawn from depths of up to 2.500 meters. The baths contain a unique blend of minerals, silicates and geothermal micro-organisms. The warm, soothing waters are beneficial to skin and spirit alike, creating a sense of wellbeing and creating a lasting memory of your visit. Facilities include a reception area and cafeteria, changing rooms and showers for up to 120 guests, three natural steam baths accommodating up to 50 bathers at a time, and a 5000m2 outdoor geothermal bathing pool maintained at a constant temperature of 38-40ºC.

Due to its chemical composition, undesired bacteria and vegetation do not thrive in the lagoon making chlorine or any other disinfectant redundant. Following a relaxing bathe, you will then continue to the gurgling purple and yellow sulphur cauldrons at the high temperature thermal field of Namaskard, which are so hot that they actually boil. Following a short walk at Namaskard, enjoy a relaxed return drive to Akureyri.

Akureyri - Godafoss Waterfall & Laufas Turf Farm - HD Tour
Leaving Akureyri, cross the waters of the fjord and travel along the slopes of Vadlaheidi Mountain, via the Fnjoskadalur Valley to Vaglaskogur Forest - one of Iceland's rare woodlands which is part of an extensive soil and vegetation reclamation project. From Fnjoskadalur, you'll travel to historic Godafoss - waterfall of the heathen gods that figure prominently in Iceland's 12th century Book of Settlement. Legend has it that Thorgeir of Ljosavatn, a chieftain present at the Thingvellir in the year 1000, was given the authority to decide which religion was to be adopted by the Icelanders. He was a pagan himself, but after a period of profound thought, decided that Christianity was to be the religion of Iceland. Upon his return home, he took the statues of the pagan gods he used to worship and threw them unceremoniously into a waterfall near his homestead. From this time, the waterfall has been named Godafoss (Waterfall of the Gods). After enjoying some time at the falls, the tour continues. The areas geological past is clearly visible on the surrounding hillsides and suggests that a once large periglacial lake filled the valley. Onwards to Laufas a 19th-century farmhouse built in the traditional Icelandic style of stone and turf – now one of the last turf farms in the country.  Originally it was a manor farm and vicarage, the farmhouse itself dates back to 1866 and contains many interesting household and agricultural implements used by the gentry at around that time. The nearby church was built in 1865. Following a pleasant scenic drive back to Akureyri, a stop is made at the towns Botanical Gardens famed for its 2,000 species of local and foreign flowers which, incidentally, bloom outside thanks to Akureyri’s warm microclimate.

Liverpool: Explore Liverpool - 8 hours
This morning, you are met as you disembark your cruise ship by your driver-guide. Begin your full day private sightseeing tour of Liverpool, once the most important centre of maritime trade in the world.

Liverpool was the European capital of Culture in 2008 as is also the birthplace of Beatles. You may like to walk through the Mathew Street to the Cavern Club, following in the footsteps of the Beatles. See the buildings known as the ‘Three Graces’, and the impressive civic buildings that were constructed as a result of the mercantile wealth. The most important of these is St. George’s Hall, that interestingly claims to be the world’s first air-conditioned building. The Walker Art Gallery houses one of the finest collections of paintings in the UK outside of London. However the two most magnificent buildings from the 20th-century in Liverpool are the cathedrals. The Anglican Cathedral built in traditional gothic style is the largest church in the UK; the Roman Catholic cathedral is a fine example of contemporary modernist architecture.

Time permitting you may also pass under the River Mersey to Port Sunlight, one of the first planned industrial villages in the world that was opened by the Lever Brothers to house their workers in better conditions. The focal point of the village is the Lady Lever Art Gallery that houses a large collection of Wedgwood Jasperware. You could also visit Speke Hall (closed Monday and Tuesday), a fine example of a Tudor half-timbered manor house that is richly decorated with wooden furniture inside.

Highlights:
  • Follow in the footsteps of the famous band the Beatles who grew up in Liverpool
  • See the impressive civic buildings, the Walker Art Gallery and the largest church in the UK

Azamara®: Azamara Pursuit
Like her sister ships, the sturdy Azamara Pursuit is a mid-sized beauty with a deck plan well-suited to the needs of modern voyagers. You'll never feel crowded in the comfortable social spaces of the bars, restaurants, lounges, and Cabaret. Nor will you feel like a sardine jammed in around the pool, where the attentive staff is always ready to offer a complimentary bottled water, soft drink, or fresh towel. Staterooms feature modern amenities, furnishings, and European linens. And one of the greatest features of this ship is the large number of staterooms with verandas. There's nothing better than opening your door to the fresh sea air and views. Azamara's friendly ships are an altogether wonderful place to call your home away from home!
Dining

Aqualina

Aqualina
You’ll love the contemporary, inventive Italian cuisine at Aqualina, featuring some of Italy’s most delicious dishes like beef tenderloin carpaccio with orange oil and forest mushroom risotto. Save room for Azamara’s famous desserts like marsala custard, lemon soufflé, tiramisu and chocolate torte.

Prime C

Prime C
Settle in for a marvelous evening at Azamara’s classic wood-paneled steakhouse with stunning views and lush autumn décor. The menu includes steaks in a variety of cuts cooked to perfection, along with starters like crab cakes with remoulade, lobster bisque, wedge salad with bacon and blue cheese, and more.

Discoveries Restaurant

Discoveries Restaurant
The center of an elegant evening dining scene takes on a warm and inviting air. Pull up a stylish seat next to old friends or new, and enjoy the same delicious selections in a fresh décor befitting of the culinary heart of Azamara's ships. Flexible seating means lots of tables for two that can be configured for larger groups of friends and family.

Windows Café

Windows Café
The buffet venue remains easy and casual, yet is reinvigorated with a contemporary and refined feel. They've added more seating, while flexible table settings make it easy to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner as an intimate table of two or a lively group of six.

The Patio

The Patio
The delicious transformation begins outside, where poolside dining becomes more polished. The Patio, formerly the Pool Grill, has the same sophisticated ambiance of Azamara's indoor dining venues, in an oceanside setting. Beautiful tablecloths and candles set the mood for sunset al fresco dining, thanks to a new evening menu and service.
Entertainment

Discoveries Lounge

Discoveries Lounge
Located just outside the main restaurant, this congenial bar is a favorite gathering place for pre- and post-dinner conversation and drinks. Bar service includes a full selection of fine wines, mixed drinks, and premium spirits,us the entertaining banter of Azamara’s friendly bartenders.

Cabaret Lounge

Cabaret Lounge
Enjoy live performances of professional full-stage musical revues, classical soloists, bands, and other entertainment in a cabaret nightclub with a full bar and cozy tables. You could see as many as three distinctly different shows while onboard.

Mosaic Café

Mosaic Café
The onboard coffee corner may very well become your favorite nook on the ship. You'll find all your favorite coffee drinks and you can order them just the way you like. If you’d like to try the Nespresso specialty coffee, Mosaic Café is the place. We recommend that you slip right into a comfortable seat and sip for a while — you never know who'll walk by.

The Living Room

The Living Room
The idea of the Living Room is just that. To “live in” and to enjoy time with friends and fellow guests. Much of the room is furnished as a living room, with clusters of large comfortable chairs and sofas. It’s the perfect space for guests throughout the day and evening to engage in lively conversations, take in interesting speakers, peruse art, play a game of cards, enjoy a cup of tea or coffee, wines and tapas, delightful music, or simply relax with a good book. After dinner, the Chef occasionally sets up for a delicious featured dessert.
Other Areas of the Ship

The Sanctum Spa

The Sanctum Spa

The Salon

The Salon
The full service salon offers a menu of professional services for men and women, including hair styling, coloring, manicures, and pedicures.

Fitness Center

Fitness Center
The secret to maintaining vitality? Exercise more. Many guests are eager to do just that, and Azamara makes it easy with complimentary group classes like sunset yoga on the deck, Pilates, cycling, core workouts, and nutrition classes.

The Drawing Room

It’s been said that guests sail with Azamara for the destinations, but come back for the staff and crew. And we couldn’t agree more. Whether you’re greeted with a cool towel, a warm smile, or a glass of sparkling wine after a rewarding day spent onshore, the staff and crew are always ready and waiting to welcome you home. Everyone from the captains to the dinner servers puts guests as their top priority. You’ll love the genial club-like atmosphere and the way the staff and crew get to know you. And you’ll feel the same friendliness with your fellow voyagers.
