Carefree Vacations Hosted Adventure – Castles on the Rhine River

Carefree Vacations Hosted Adventure – Castles on the Rhine River – Client Blog – September, 2015

Uniworld’s Castles on the Rhine was the perfect introduction to our first time river cruising. The trip was both exciting and peaceful at the same time. Attention by the cruise staff to our every want was excellent. The ship was clean, luxurious and our stateroom was comfortable. It was fun to sit topside, sipping ice tea and take in the beauty of the French and German countryside as we glided past. It was interesting to transit all the locks and take a tour of the wheelhouse with the captain. The shore excursions were well put together with great variety in the activities. One of our favorite excursions was to medieval Marksburg Castle.

Lynn (Rodrigues – Carmel Mountain branch) arranged this cruise for a group of her friends, family, and clients. While we didn’t know most of them prior to the cruise, we grew together as friends by sitting together at dinner, having drinks in the lounge, and dancing our disco butts off to the music of our cruise pianist. On two evenings, entertainment was brought in for after dinner shows and these groups were fabulous. Prior to boarding the ship in Basel, Lynn arranged for us, a few extra days in Zurich for a tour of Heidi’s countryside and Lucerne for a breathtaking trip to the top of Jungfrau mountain, the highest peak in Europe. She also arranged our hotels and train transportation. Everything went flawlessly.  We took the ship transfer to the airport at the final port. Our baggage was handled efficiently by the staff; the bus was right on time.  There was a Uniworld employee at the airport to greet us and help with getting to where we needed to go in order to catch our plane.

This cruise was a really great experience and we had a wonderful time.
